Vaar at her very first outing
Vaar was imported from Denmark late 2005 as an unbacked 4-year old. She was backed over the Christmas period and took over as Theresa’s riding horse while Stella was sent off on maternity leave.
Vaar is a big lady at around 17 hands, but very trainable and light to ride, and was placed at her very first outing that spring.
Vaar gained a 1st premium at the UK Knabstrupper grading in 2006, achieving best Sports Horse mare.
Her sire, the Danish Oldenborg stallion Laban af Kloster, competed at Prix St George with Danish international rider Joachim Chr Thomsen and was awarded Best Stallion across all breeds at the National Show at Roskilde.
Vaar produced a lovely leopard spotted colt foal by Hamlet Frydenlund in 2007, Halfdan Valiant.Due to Theresa’s unforeseen time off riding we decided to put Vaar back in foal to Hamlet for 2008. Vaar foaled a near leopard filly, Halfdan Valentina, in May, a spitting image of her full brother.
